What a great day at Construction Skills Village Open Day for School Leavers yesterday. We welcomed 34 young people to our site – all were interested in finding out about career opportunities in construction. The engagement with the tutors was amazing and the feedback fantastic!

Our visitors had some hands-on experience in the joinery workshop making planters and phone holders and learnt about the courses on offer to them: Groundworks, Brickwork, Joinery, Plastering, Plumbing and Electrics.
Employment Engagement Officer Kim Jackson was pleased with the feedback. “It was great to see so many young people engaged with the tutors and keen to know what apprenticeships we have here. We have a lot of local employers – in all areas of construction – looking to take on an apprentice. It’s an exciting time to learn a trade – there is so much demand at the moment and some great opportunities for young people.”
