Funding Boost to Scarborough Skills Village

The government has awarded £900,000 to Scarborough’s Construction Skills Village. It’s one of sixteen successful ‘Fast Track’ projects receiving a share of £6million Coastal Communities Fund money to help deliver sustainable growth and jobs across the Great British coast. The Rt Hon Robert Goodwill MP visited Scarborough’s Construction Skills village on Friday 13th August to meet the trainees and team behind the project and discuss the successes that have been achieved so far. Construction Skills Village To Receive Extra Funding

£400,000 of funding has been approved to expand the Construction Skills Village in Scarborough.  The borough council’s cabinet made the decision on Tuesday 17 July with the view of extending the site at Eastfield. On-site training boost to ease skills shortages

A £22m boost for on-site construction training was officially launched on Monday 18th August 2018 in the latest attempt to ease the industry’s skills shortages.
