Funding Boost to Scarborough Skills Village

The government has awarded £900,000 to Scarborough’s Construction Skills Village. It’s one of sixteen successful ‘Fast Track’ projects receiving a share of £6million Coastal Communities Fund money to help deliver sustainable growth and jobs across the Great British coast. The £900,000 grant goes to the Scarborough Construction Skills Village project to help tackle local unemployment

MP Visits Scarborough Construction Skills Village

The Rt Hon Robert Goodwill MP visited Scarborough’s Construction Skills village on Friday 13th August to meet the trainees and team behind the project and discuss the successes that have been achieved so far. To date successes have included:- Recruiting more than 100 onto post 16 learning provision. Recruiting 8 under 16’s. Enabling 62 learners

Construction Skills Village To Receive Extra Funding

£400,000 of funding has been approved to expand the Construction Skills Village in Scarborough.  The borough council’s cabinet made the decision on Tuesday 17 July with the view of extending the site at Eastfield. A Construction Business Centre will be built within the former High Eastfield Farm House. The funding comes from Advantage Coast CLLD

On-site training boost to ease skills shortages

A £22m boost for on-site construction training was officially launched on Monday 18th August 2018 in the latest attempt to ease the industry’s skills shortages. The Construction Skills Fund was first unveiled during Chancellor Philip Hammond’s Spring Statement in March. The £22m injection will help fund 20 “skills villages” where training hubs are set-up alongside

Local providers team up to offer construction skills training
